ShrimadDayanand Prakash

Only one work of Swami Satyanand, who created amazing aura through his speech and writing, the biography of Rishi Dayanand – SrimadDayanand Prakash was enough to make his work immortal. Its first edition was published by Mr. Rajpal (Chairman, Arya Pustakalay Lahore) in 1975 Vikrami. 1918 AD.
In this biography, where excellence is seen in presentation of the subject, his intellectual superiority, command of language and style of expression has made it the main object of attraction for the readers. His prose is as rhythmic as poetry and showers joy in the hearty readers. In Sanskrit, prose has been called the touchstone of poetry and Swami Satyananda has fulfilled the aphorism of ‘GadyankavinaNirshyamVadanti’ through his work. Just as Goswami Tulsidas, through his Ramcharit Manas, composed the Raghunath saga (vernacular prose) in Simple regional Awadhi, in the same way, Swami Satyanand immortalized the life story of the wise and resolute champion of the Vedas Maharshi Dayanand with his devotional writing style. This book, written in a skillful depiction of events and in a figurative language and a wonderful style, has become a favorite of the devotees and followers of Swami Dayanand. Dayanand Prakash was enthusiastically adopted by the reader community. As a result, apart from Rajpal and Sons, other publishers published many editions of this classic book.
On 9 October 1927, when Swami Satyanand was sitting at the shop of Mahashay Rajpal (the famous Arya Publisher) located in Anarkali Bazaar of Lahore, a bigoted Muslim named Abdul Aziz, considering him to be Mahashay Rajpal, the publisher of ‘Rangeela Rasool’, attacked him with a knife. Swami Satyanand survived but had to remain under medical treatment for a considerable time.
